Assistant Manager Reports to
Store Manager Summary The Assistant Manager shares in the responsibility for the overall performance of the store, assisting Store Management with generating sales potential, recruiting and developing staff, maintaining store appearance, and controlling expenses and shortages. Overall Responsibilities Generate sales and profit, minimize losses and ensure the store is visually distinctive and impeccably maintained.
Identify and implement strategies and initiatives to achieve and exceed business goals. Oversee and maintain the highest level of customer service standards.
Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Represent the Tommy Hilfiger image through personal and professional appearance.
Take responsibility for sales growth, staffing and inventory results, driving productivity and profitability. Handle all activities within the store in the absence of the GM/SM or Associate Manager.
Manage time and prioritize tasks. Operations Understand and comply with all company policy, procedures and operations.
Maintain the highest level of security and safety awareness within the store. Recognize problems, analyze causes and generate solutions.
Manage all controllable expenses, including allocation of payroll. Attend mall/center management meetings when required.
Follow Inventory Shrinkage Improvement Program. Maintain productivity in shipment processing, inventory counting and price change activities.
Ensure all necessary tools and resources are available and properly used. Oversee store openings and closings.
Execute tasks and responsibilities under direction of the Store Manager. Leadership Responsibilities Assist in recruiting and hiring sales associates who reflect the Tommy Hilfiger image.
Develop associates’ knowledge of product, merchandising, operations, customer service, sales and company growth. Motivate and develop support staff to meet store goals and objectives.
Handle difficult situations while maintaining performance. Seek support from others when necessary.
Supervise the sales floor to ensure customer and associate awareness at all times. Foster teamwork within the store and company, treating staff professionally, respectfully and courteously.
Participate in weekly management meetings and quarterly staff meetings with the Store Manager. Lead by example, expressing ideas effectively.
Maintain confidentiality and meet personal commitments. Merchandising & Visual Responsibilities Supervise selected department(s) to perform at maximum potential.
Execute all merchandising directives, updates and markdowns in a timely and effective manner. Analyze business needs, identify top and slow sellers and fulfill merchandising strategy.
Maintain elevated store presentation through training and oversight according to brand and company standards. Possess thorough knowledge of sales floor and stockroom organization and systems.
Keep management informed of all merchandise and visual related issues. Maintain store organization, fixtures, hardware and general cleanliness.
Pay Range PVH provides base salary ranges for all positions in the United States based on local requirements. Compensation is determined by qualifications, geographic location and other relevant factors.
