Your Impact Lead and mentor a small but growing finance team (Bookkeeper and Junior Accountant), fostering professional development and operational efficiency. Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and fixed assets, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, providing actionable insights to support day-to-day operations and long-term strategic decisions. Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital, maintaining the companys financial health and supporting growth initiatives. Ensure compliance with GAAP and Canadian tax regulations, coordinating audits, tax filings, and other reporting requirements. Partner with leadership and operations teams to analyze financial performance, identify opportunities for efficiency, and enhance profitability. Optimize accounting systems and processes, streamlining reporting tools and workflows to improve accuracy and scalability. Maintain M&P Mercury's internal controls and policies, safeguarding company assets and minimizing risk. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, supporting process improvements and initiatives that drive business growth in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Your Background 7+ years of experience as a Controller with a CPA designation, bringing hands-on experience managing diverse, complex accounting functions. Proven experience growing multi-location operations, ideally in luxury retail, marine, or dealership environments. Strong expertise in GAAP, Canadian tax, compliance, audits, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Proficient Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems with the ability to pick up quickly and implement new systems. Quick learner and hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day accounting, financial planning and analysis, and strategic leadership. Team builder and mentor, experienced in developing a small, growing finance team (Bookkeeper and Junior Accountant). Versatile and proactive, comfortable owning both accounting and administrative functions, successfully wearing multiple hats. Effective communicator with excellent organizational skills, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Flexible work arrangement, with the ability to work hybrid, including 3 days in-office (Vancouver/Burnaby).
