Director, Project Delivery Office

MatchBox Consulting Group is sourcing on behalf of our client. This strategic leadership role is responsible for building and leading a fully functional Project Delivery Office, establishing organization-wide project delivery governance, standards, and capability across all stages of projects from pursuits through construction. The Director will develop and execute a clear PDO build-out roadmap that demonstrates measurable return on investment, improves project performance and quality, and delivers business value, while providing enterprise leadership in project standards, risk management, portfolio governance, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Build, launch, and lead a centralized Project Delivery Office that supports projects from pursuit through construction Establish and embed project delivery governance, standards, and frameworks across the organization Develop and execute a PDO roadmap that clearly demonstrates value, outcomes, and ROI Lead portfolio sequencing and prioritization to ensure alignment with organizational strategy and capacity Strengthen project management capability across teams through standards, guidance, and support Oversee quality, audit, risk management, and benefits-realization practices Drive continuous improvement and innovation in project delivery processes, tools, and systems Act as a senior leader and trusted partner across the business, fostering collaboration and alignment Communicate clearly and consistently with stakeholders on vision, progress, risks, and outcomes Navigate complex discussions and resolve conflicts while keeping teams focused on shared goals Requirements 10+ years of project management experience within engineering and/or construction environments Minimum 10 years in a senior management or equivalent leadership role Proven experience standing up or transforming a Project Delivery Office or similar enterprise function Demonstrated experience developing project governance, standards, and delivery frameworks Experience managing large-scale project programs and portfolios Strong background in creating business requirements, project plans, schedules, and delivery materials Follow MatchBox at linkedin.com/company/matchbox-recruitment/ About MatchBox Headquartered in downtown Vancouver and serving clients nationally, MatchBox is one of the leading recruitment and solutions firms that specializes in the fields of IT & Technology, Engineering & Technical, Real Estate & Construction, and Accounting & Finance.
