The Account Representative is responsible for providing technical support to assigned customers, maintaining positive relationships, developing new business opportunities, and supporting Canadian business operations. The primary customer is General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS), London, Ontario where the account representative will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels through regular inventory cycle counts, overseeing material receipts, obtaining required documentation, and purchasing and requisitioning material as required.This position will be required to meet with other customers outside of General Dynamics and maintain customer relationships within the greater London Ontario area. Responsibilities/Duties Managing Inventory and order flow Conducts inventory cycle counts at GDLS Building 15 and Robin Hill Road facilities and ensures that both locations always maintain operational levels of inventory. Conducts inventory cycle counts and monitors receipts and deliveries to HCL Logistics HazMat storage bay. Coordinate with GDLS & HCL production and operations teams to ensure materials, chemicals, and supplies are available to support uninterrupted workflow Provides technical support including problem identification and resolution, and maximization of material use. Provides support for purchasing and receiving duties. Record and maintain detailed inventory transactions, adjustments, and movement logs within Chemico inventory management systems. Interfaces with internal customers, working on-site to create process efficiencies. Create purchase orders in Sage based on customer requests or requirements and send purchase orders to appropriate suppliers. Work with suppliers to place and confirm orders. Works with EHS Departments to ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards. Support other customers and development of other programs Communicate vendor issues to Supply Chain and Strategic Distribution Manager. Process receipts and sales in Sage. Complete and deliver reports to required internal and external customers as required. Participate in meetings and lead presentations to internal and external management and personnel Travel to existing and potential customer locations to meet with local teams and grow business. Support Operations Manager with overall Canadian business operations Performs other duties and assignments as required. Knowledge, skills, and abilities Works effectively with all levels of internal/external management, personnel, customers, and suppliers. Possesses strong communications and presentation skills. Demonstrates ability to utilize technology for communication of analyses, results, and problem solving. Achieves goals and objectives as determined by management. Works independently; self-motivated and self-directed. Works effectively as contributing team member. Successfully manages and prioritizes multiple projects within fluctuating operational demands. Demonstrates strong analytical and problem identification and resolution skills. Accepts challenges, identifies needs and is willing to work on new projects. Prolonged periods of standing and walking in large industrial environment Ability to maintain a high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time. Prolonged periods of sitting and exposure to computer screens Ability to lift to 50 pounds. High School Diploma Associate degree Preferred, but not mandatory. Some experience in industrial manufacturing or technical environment preferred. Computer proficient with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and the internet required. Required Qualifications High School Diploma. Previous experience in chemical management, Assembly/Paint a plus but not mandatory.
