The Mission You will architect performance-critical UI systems for a competitive multiplayer FPS where every millisecond matters. This means building server-authoritative HUDs with client prediction, crafting instant‑feeling inventory and loadout systems, and seamlessly connecting interfaces with complex gameplay systems including weapon mechanics, AI state machines, and player progression. Your code will handle real-time combat data, spectator modes, and the rapid iteration cycles that competitive gaming demands. ✅ Core Requirements 3+ years game UI programming (we value potential alongside experience) Unreal Engine UI experience (UMG, Slate, or similar game UI frameworks) C++ proficiency with UI system implementation Blueprint or visual scripting experience 1+ shipped game project (commercial, indie, or substantial mod) Multiplayer FPS or competitive game UI UE5's UMG system expertise UI performance optimization for 60+ FPS targets Platform certification processes The Challenge: Architect UI for a competitive shooter that demands frame‑perfect responsiveness while handling complex real‑time systems.
