EASTBROOK ELEMENTARY is hiring

Eastbrook Elementary, located in Brooks Alberta, is seeking applications for a part time mainstream Educational Assistant to work with students from grades 1-3.

The Educational Assistant role requires an applicant who works well under pressure and in energetic environments while upholding the values of the division. This role requires patience, kindness, and resiliency, and an understanding of the importance, of this role, for our students, colleagues, and community.

Eastbrook Elementary is a dynamic and diverse elementary school, serving approximately 465 students in Prekindergarten to Grade 6, from our local communities and families. Job Duties:

  • support students in instruction as well as social and behavioral needs
  • encourage positive interactions between students and staff;
  • work closely and collaboratively with school staff including, but not limited to, classroom teachers and administration;
  • position may include activities such as lifting, transferring, and providing personal care, as necessary; and
  • position may have involvement in student school activities such as swimming or outdoor sports and may require the EA to participate with students.

  • Strong communication skills; written, verbal and reading
  • Ability to assist with all subject areas for the grade supporting
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational and multitasking skills
  • Understanding and appreciation of Grasslands Public Schools mission and values
  • Able to contribute to a classroom environment that supports diversity and inclusion
  • Respect and value all individuals with sensitivity to diversity
  • Personal integrity and trustworthiness
  • Understanding of how the role of Educational Assistant impacts the community

Education and Certifications:

  • High School diploma
  • postsecondary training is an asset
