GRIFFIN PARK SCHOOL is hiring

Griffin Park School, located in Brooks Alberta, is seeking applications for a part time grade 2 mainstream Educational Assistant to work with students, to prepare them for the grades ahead. This position requires an applicant who works well under pressure and in energetic environments while upholding the values of the division.     • Early dismissal, for students, on Fridays, to give more flexibility in schedules, for colleagues to meet, collaborate, and learn within working hours.
    Job Duties:
    • support students in instruction as well as with physical, social and behavioral needs;
    • encourage positive interactions between students and staff;
    • work closely and collaboratively with school staff including, but not limited to, classroom teachers and administration;
    • position may include activities such as lifting, transferring, and providing personal care, as necessary; and
    • position may have involvement in student school activities such as swimming or outdoor sports and may require the EA to participate with students.

  • Strong communication skills; written, verbal and reading
  • Ability to assist with all subject areas for the grade supporting
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational and multitasking skills
  • Understanding and appreciation of Grasslands Public Schools mission and values

Education and Certifications:

  • High School diploma
  • postsecondary training is an asset
