POSITION SUMMARY The role of Site Quality Lead directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As the Site Quality Lead, you will work in conjunction with PM Operations on the implementation of corporate quality standards, operating procedures, training, internal auditing, and analytical technology across the site to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and product quality for the protection of our business. WHAT YOU’LL DO Serves as a key member of the Wind Farm Site leadership team, and the on-site representative of the Quality Manager. Serves as the Site Manager contact on all quality issues at the park, and the key point of contact on quality for the park to all outside agencies and the rest of Nordex. Serves as on-site subject matter expert regarding Nordex IMS. Prepares reports for the Site Manager and the Quality Manager summarizing the status of all quality issues and activities on site. Ensures that tools and equipment assigned to quality personnel are accounted for and in good condition. Ensures all on-site quality personnel performs their duties following appropriate standards, and that all IMS procedures are understood and enforced by all personnel in the park. Monitors the project plan and rotation schedule to anticipate manning requirements and provide timely recommendations on staffing. Monitors/reports on quality inspector attendance and performance issues. Oversees the administration of all quality processes at the park. Follows up, continuously, all open actions and keeps inspectors informed on all matters of quality processes or quality personnel. Leads by example and enforces safety and quality standards. Ensures tasks are understood, supervised, accomplished and makes sound and timely decisions. Manages Site NCRs, escalating critical & lingering issues to Site Management, Quality Manager, Client & General Contractor as required. Tracks, coordinates & performs 1st article audits on first time executed process on the construction Site. Other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU HAVE High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Degree in technical or engineering field, or equivalent work experience. 3+ years’ experience preferred. Bilingual in French and English. Positive attitude and willingness to learn, lead, and improve. Experience in quality management/quality control processes. Demonstrated small group leadership abilities, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management through reports, memos, and other written correspondence. Ability to successfully interact with contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers and commit to extended deployment at the wind farm project. Experience in quality management/quality control processes. ASQ Certified and Certified ISO auditor preferred. Analytical skills – must be able to reach conclusions and make recommendations based on collected data. Wind Turbine Assembly experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage several activities at once, including organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare reports. Functions effectively under pressure in environments of rapid change and conflicting demands. Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS office applications (i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Follow oral and written instructions in English and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English effectively to superiors, peers, and subordinates. Strong ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics to develop procedures, validate work activity, and ensure that risks are identified and mitigated. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, climb stairs, hearing ability to use close-range radios, visual acuity including depth perception, the field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors, ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed, as well as hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to climb to heights of 60 to 100 meters and supervise work in confined space environments. Work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Working conditions are normal for a construction environment. Work may involve lifting materials and products up to 23kg (50 pounds). Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not be limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. Loose‑fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Ability to travel domestic and international locations to project sites and on business as required with the ability to obtain a passport. Due to safety equipment operational specifications, must meet the weight requirement of 120kg (265 lbs.) or less to safely utilize climbing equipment and climbing gear. Must be able to work in Canada with no Company sponsorship and have the ability to obtain a US passport. Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability. Ability to successfully complete all Canadian regulatory laws surrounding pre‑employment screening requirements. Must be able to pass a pre‑employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position. Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job‑related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English‑speaking supervisors and team members. The pay for this role is non‑exempt at $45.00 - $50.00 CAD hourly with up to a 5% bonus. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job‑related reasons.
