1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicants Supported Lifestyles Ltd. is a not for profit agency that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. Residential Services provides support to a variety of individuals with varying needs in group home settings. The Residential Supportive Roommate will provide direct, front-line supports in their home and utilize behavioural intervention skills to benefit the individuals that we support. Responsibilities Supported Lifestyles Ltd. is accepting resumes for the position of Respite Supportive Roommate. The successful candidate will provide live-in support in their own home. The Supportive Roommate must provide in-home support for 2‑3 weekends a month, providing personal care and supporting the client with their activities. Responsibilities include: support with all areas of daily living including life skills such as budgeting, household management, grocery shopping, meal preparation, health and medical support, transportation, and support in active recreation (bowling, swimming, etc.). Qualifications & Requirements SE/SW area is preferred but not required Willingness to do personal care required Experience working with developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges Experience providing behavioural supports to clients Post‑secondary education in a related field an asset (e.g. Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, etc.) Vehicle is required for this position Comfortable with going to sports bars and attending sports events with client and supporting them Ability to help client balance social outings and relaxation time Application Information Those who are interested in the Respite Supportive Roommate position must attach a cover letter along with their resume.
