YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. We are one of the largest not-for-profit providers of licensed child care in Canada and have over 100 school age programs across our regions. We also offer settlement services to newcomers, employment programs, mental health support, and youth programs. YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps, one in Point Pelee National Park, and one on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 15 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario. Position: Child Care Director Licensed Program: St. Rose YMCA Child Care and School Age Program Responsibilities Oversee and support day-to-day operations of the centre and school-age program, including staffing, family engagement, financial matters, inclusive programming, and YMCA quality outcomes. Follow and ensure the program policies and procedures, and day-to-day operations in accordance with the regulations of the Program and the Ministry of Education, Child Care Early Years Act (2014), YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, Public Health and Fire Regulations for licensed childcare centres. Lead the implementation of an inclusive play-based curriculum that includes How Does Learning Happen and the YMCA Curriculum. Evaluate program quality as required, utilizing audit tools and quality initiatives, and maintain required records for compliance. Demonstrate YMCA Core Values (Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility, Inclusivity) in daily interactions. Maintain and mentor daily the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario Program Statement; manage records and forms as required by the Ministry of Education and YMCA(SWO). Liaise with parents and community partners in a professional manner, maintaining an inviting and inclusive environment. Oversee registrations, monitor enrollment, and maintain occupancy goals; manage the centre budget, financial forecasting, expenses, and payroll requirements. Manage Human Resource requirements, assist with onboarding new staff, and work collaboratively with Directors of YMCA Programs. Education & Skills Qualifications An Early Childhood Educator Diploma, or a diploma/degree in a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of related supervisory experience in a childcare environment. Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario (CECE) or be eligible as required. Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification or include the date of training scheduled within the next three months. Minimum age 18 with ability to obtain a current Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check (less than 6 months old). Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health, Ministry of Education and YMCA(SWO). Ability to perform frequent light to medium physical effort (lifting up to 20 kg/44 lbs, bending, stooping). Legally entitled to work in Canada. Compensation & Benefits Salary: Members of the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario – $58,500 (includes all government wage enhancements). As part of total compensation: complimentary YMCA personal membership to Health & Fitness facilities, discounts on YMCA child care and camp programs. Vacation entitlement in accordance with employment standards regulations, up to 12 paid personal days annually. Benefits package and pension, applicable with position/contract length. Access to wellness and counselling services; contribute to real, meaningful impact in the lives of children and youth. Schedule 7.5 hour workday, Monday through Friday (no weekends). 37.5 hour work week, with shifts rotating to cover full hours of operation.
