Job Posting: Child Care Centre Cook

Location: Kidtopia Child Care Centre – Mississauga, ONT

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Start Date: As soon as possible

(3 - 6 Month Term - could become full time)

Kidtopia Child Care Centre is seeking a warm, reliable, and organized Cook to join our team Our cook plays a vital role in keeping our children nourished, healthy, and happy. If you love preparing nutritious meals and working in a fast-paced, child-focused environment, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve daily snacks and lunch following our set menus and allergy lists
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment in accordance with Public Health and CCEYA requirements
  • Ensure all meals meet nutritional guidelines and accommodate allergies, restrictions, and cultural needs
  • Maintain inventory, order groceries, and manage food rotation
  • Follow proper food handling and storage procedures
  • Support educators during special events (BBQs, celebrations, etc.)
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding supplies, allergies, and menu planning

Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a cook in a child care, school, or commercial kitchen setting (required)
  • Food Handler Certification (required)
  • Knowledge of allergy-safe food preparation
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Warm, friendly demeanor and ability to contribute to a positive centre environment
