Senior Electrical Engineer - Hydropower Testing & Commissioning As part of CIMA+’s Energy & Resources team, you will actively lead and/or participate in projects for the construction and reconstruction of hydropower plants, including the design of high-power switchgears and controlgears. Primary Responsibilities Design electrical power systems and their layouts for various hydropower plant projects. Develop power system drawings for switchgear and controlgear such as medium voltage cabinets, control panels, power distribution centres, etc. Prepare project deliverables, including detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams. Perform or validate equipment sizing calculations and select power cable gauges. Select materials and calculate quantities. Coordinate electrical work with other engineering disciplines (structural, civil, control, protection, auxiliary mechanics, heavy mechanics, building and architecture). Qualifications University Degree in Electrical Engineering Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) ou éligible à l'inscription More than ten (10) years of experience Knowledge of the standards established by Hydro‑Québec or other public utility (an asset) Knowledge of power distribution methods, practices and tools used in the design of power systems Practical knowledge of design software (AutoCAD and others) Fluency in oral and written French Fluency in spoken and written English at a professional level Knowledge of applicable design standards and codes, including the Quebec Electrical Code Resourcefulness, motivation, enthusiasm, and strong will to deliver successful projects Benefits Comprehensive Group Benefits available from day one for all permanent employees working at least 20 hours per week Employee and Family Assistance Program Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with up to 4% employer contribution Annual opportunity to purchase shares for all employees Flexible work schedule in a hybrid work mode Work/Life balance policy across Canada 3‑5 weeks of vacation, based on years of relevant experience Tailored training to improve existing skills Contact For more information on this career opportunity, please contact Réna Chont.
