Leader of Finance Hatfield is seeking a Leader of Finance. This executive‑level role provides oversight of financial planning, risk management, record‑keeping, and financial reporting. The Leader of Finance works closely with and is accountable to Hatfield’s Managing Partners and Board, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President & Managing Partner. Responsibilities Financial Operations Cash flow forecasting and monitoring to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and investments. Engaging in financial forecasting, budgeting, and long‑term planning. Overseeing tax compliance and optimization strategies. Ensuring legal compliance of financial systems and supporting future growth. Controlling the annual operating budget to use financial resources efficiently and effectively. Optimizing cost‑effective sourcing, equipment tracking, and charge‑out processes to improve operational efficiency. Financial Oversight And Reporting Ensuring timely and accurate financial reports and practices. Ensuring financial reports comply with Canadian GAAP and accurately represent the company’s financial position. Attesting to the accuracy and reliability of financial statements. Strategic Initiatives Supporting company goals with progressive financial strategies. Collaborating with senior managers to make informed decisions about investments, capital structure, and income management. Leadership Building and leading a highly effective finance and accounting team, ensuring motivation and performance. Leading the Hatfield Finance Committee and ensuring its efforts support financial objectives. Overseeing financial planning and analysis functions to support strategic decision‑making and business growth. Risk Management Managing insurance policy renewals and ensuring adequate coverage. Identifying and addressing financial risks and opportunities. Mergers And Acquisitions Providing recommendations on M&A opportunities. Evaluating financial viability and risk factors of potential acquisitions. Board Consultation Consulting with the Hatfield Board and Managing Partners on financial strategies. Providing insights into financial implications of strategic decisions to align with financial goals. Outputs To The Managing Partners And Finance Committee Providing ongoing financial and business intelligence metrics via Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Monthly and YTD financial reports including income statements, fee and cashflow projections, A/R, write‑off, and WIP reports. Quarterly recommendations to the Finance Committee regarding potential special distributions to partners. Quarterly comparison of budgeted financials vs actual performance with justification for variances. Quarterly support reviewing annual financial statements from external accountants and corporate valuations. Education and Experience CPA designation and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 10+ years progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, ideally in a consulting practice. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and background in data analysis. Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or comparable mid‑market ERP). Strong working knowledge of Power BI for financial dashboards. Proven track record in strategic planning and operational efficiency. Strong knowledge of Canadian tax regulations, corporate finance, and risk management. Other Assets/Skills Experience partnering with IT/ERP consultants during system implementation or optimization. Proactive problem‑solving and strong decision‑making capability. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving business consulting environment. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
