Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end project management for procurement and supply chain initiatives within oil & gas companies.
  • Ensure seamless implementation of GEP SMART or other procurement digital solutions.
  • Align procurement strategies with business goals, including cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including procurement teams, category managers, suppliers, and executives.
  • Manage relationships with critical suppliers in drilling, exploration, refining, and logistics.
  • Drive supplier performance improvements and risk mitigation strategies.

Procurement & Supply Chain Optimization

  • Develop category management strategies for key oil & gas spend areas (e.g., equipment, raw materials, services).
  • Oversee contract lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Enhance supply chain resilience by leveraging data analytics and automation tools.

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with oil & gas industry regulations, including HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), API (American Petroleum Institute), and ISO standards .
  • Implement risk assessment frameworks to mitigate supply disruptions.
  • Address geopolitical and environmental risks affecting procurement and logistics.

Technology & Digital Transformation

  • Lead the integration of digital procurement solutions, AI-driven analytics, and cloud-based procurement platforms.
  • Optimize procurement workflows through automation and process reengineering.
  • Utilize predictive analytics to drive decision-making in supply chain management.

Financial & Performance Reporting

  • Monitor project KPIs, budget adherence, and cost savings.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on procurement performance and efficiency gains.
  • Leverage spend analytics to optimize sourcing strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field .
  • Additional certifications in Petroleum Economics, Oil & Gas Procurement, or Supply Chain Analytics are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or project management within the oil & gas sector.
  • Prior experience implementing GEP SMART, Ariba, SAP MM, Coupa , or similar procurement platforms.

Project Management & Technical Skills:

  • Strong governance skills to drive the project on time and on budget.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement categories in oil & gas, such as rig equipment, crude transport, lubricants, spare parts, EPC contracts .
  • Familiarity with Upstream (exploration & drilling), Midstream (transportation & storage), and Downstream (refining & distribution) procurement .
  • Proficiency in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies .
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate complex supply chain challenges.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level reporting.
