Quality Engineer permanent position $60K to $65K dep. on exper.

LOCATION: Whitby, Ontario

Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred but will consider others)
3 yrs+ experience as a Quality Engineer
Able to develop, write and implement Quality Assurance Systems and Procedures
Knowledge of AIAG Core tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, PFMEA, etc.)
Knowledge of OEE and TPM component metrics
Ability to clearly communicate and train employees on quality program standards
Able to work day shift and be available for off shift QA training of employees on occasion
Computer literate (MS Office, Outlook)

Duties:

Support the Quality Assurance program designed to ensure defect-free solutions for customers
Take a hands-on approach to implementing and maintaining the Quality Assurance system
Assist with internal audits per audit plan and re-certification audits for ISO 14001
Assist with company quality system to ensure all quality activities are standardized
Develop and maintain PFMEAs, CP and F/O forms including Standard Operating Procedures for Quality Assurance
Ensure employees are complying with company QA standards
Contribute to operational excellence initiatives such as OEE, TPM, first rate product quality, safety, ease of use, cost changeover times
Root cause analysis
Manage non-conforming material and product management of rejected materials
Record and communicate on Quality Loss metrics
Minimize scrap levels and make ready for all products as outlined in KPIs
Conduct first-off and in-process frequency checks, including last off at all stages of our processes
Conduct finished product quality assurance including traceability
Perform other duties as assigned
