Fundraising Coordinator

Organization: USL Employment Type: Part-Time, Contract (event-based compensation) Schedule: Primarily weekends; occasional weekdays with advance notice Travel Required: Yes – across the GTA and surrounding areas Position Overview USL is seeking a motivated and community-focused Fundraising & Event Coordinator to support planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising and community engagement events for USL and its partner organizations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with communities, coordinating meaningful events, and supporting nonprofit fundraising initiatives. The successful candidate will play a hands‑on role at events while also contributing to promotion, outreach, and partner engagement. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and support fundraising and awareness events for USL and its partner organizations. Assist with event logistics, including venue coordination, bookings, vendor communication, setup, and breakdown. Represent USL and its partners (including MFBCS) at community events, meetings, and public gatherings. Coordinate with partners, volunteers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth and well‑organized events. Travel to various event locations across the GTA as required. Community Engagement & Outreach Engage with attendees, donors, community leaders, and partners during events. Support fundraising efforts through on‑site donor engagement and community outreach. Assist in identifying opportunities for sponsorships, partnerships, and collaborative events. Help strengthen USL’s partner presence within diverse communities across the GTA. Support promotion of upcoming fundraising events and community initiatives. Assist with distributing promotional materials before and during events. Support basic social media promotion related to events and fundraising campaigns. Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistent messaging. Provide brief post‑event summaries, including attendance, engagement, and outcomes. Support basic tracking of event engagement and fundraising activities. Work closely with USL leadership, volunteers, and partner organizations. Skills & Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in event coordination, fundraising, community outreach, or nonprofit work (preferred). Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks in fast‑paced environments. Comfortable working evenings and weekends as required. Familiarity with social media platforms and basic promotional content. Ability to travel independently across the GTA. Passion for community service and mission‑driven work. Working Conditions & Compensation Part‑time, contract‑based position. Compensation is event‑based and outlined in the contract. Weekend availability is essential; weekday commitments will be communicated in advance. Combination of on‑site event coordination and limited remote support work.
