Job Overview The IESO is seeking a Talent Acquisition Advisor for temporary, full‑time positions in Mississauga, Oakville, and Toronto, Ontario. The role is band 6A and offers an annual pay range of $86,550–$108,190 for a 40‑hour work week within the Human Resources Business Unit. Responsibilities Consult with hiring managers to define role requirements and manage the full recruitment lifecycle while delivering engaging experiences for candidates and stakeholders. Design, execute, and project‑manage assessment strategies using structured interviews and tools to ensure accurate candidate evaluations. Apply structured problem‑solving methods to support evidence‑based hiring decisions that balance speed, quality, and business impact. Interpret talent‑market insights to guide hiring managers toward realistic and effective strategies. Collaborate with hiring managers to assess internal and external candidates, ensuring consistency and fairness while providing expert guidance on compensation offers and legal compliance. Manage end‑to‑end candidate evaluation, including references, background checks, and onboarding in collaboration with Security and IT stakeholders. Build and maintain a strong talent network in the energy and public sectors while actively promoting the IESO employment brand through career fairs, conferences, and industry events. Leverage labour market insights, sourcing tools, and strategic partnerships to build diverse talent pipelines and share market intelligence to support current and future hiring needs. Participate in the procurement and management of related vendor relationships and contracts. Lead or participate as a member of project teams and task forces as needed. Partner with key stakeholders to gather feedback and utilize data to make evidence‑based decisions related to talent acquisition processes, employee value proposition elements, and recruitment policies. Deliver presentations and guidance on recruitment policies, systems, and best practices to hiring managers and candidates while keeping client groups informed on market trends that influence recruitment strategies and competitive positioning. Requirements Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust‑based relationships across all levels of the organization. Data‑driven mindset with experience using recruitment analytics and talent‑market insights to inform decisions. Ability to operate in complexity and ambiguity using critical thinking and problem‑solving to bring structure, clarity, and prioritization to evolving talent needs. Strong oral and written communication and negotiation skills capable of exercising self‑awareness, empathy, and sound judgment when influencing others tactfully to reach agreement or deliver feedback in a constructive manner. Strong organization skills to set priorities, balance multiple competing responsibilities, and respond to customer needs in a timely manner and meet timelines. High level of attention to detail and accuracy across all stages of the recruitment process, including maintaining candidate records and compliance with hiring policies and relevant legislation. Ability to work in a fast‑paced dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly. Proven ability to effectively apply best practice tools and accurately assess competencies and suitability or fit of potential job candidates. Ability to deal with sensitive/confidential issues and data related to HR functions. Experience working in a unionized environment including interpretation of collective agreement provisions. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Code, as well as application of HR best practices.
