Overview Our Development team is growing, and we’re looking for a Technical Lead (Vertical App Experience) who is passionate about solving complex technical challenges, driving architectural excellence, and delivering scalable, high-quality software. In this role, you’ll take ownership of technical direction across projects, mentor developers, and ensure best practices are applied throughout the development lifecycle. You’ll play a key role as we continue to evolve and scale our no-code platform and expand our AI-driven capabilities, helping build tools that enable small businesses to move faster and work smarter. Vertical App Team The Vertical App team owns the "Engine Room" of Method, focusing on the Business Rules Engine (BRE), the Data Access Layer, and runtime action processing. This is a balanced full-stack team responsible for building the no-code infrastructure that powers our stock apps, including complex multi-warehouse and inventory management systems. You’ll be tasked with ensuring the platform’s core logic is fast, reliable, and extensible for users building custom workflows. About Method Method is on a mission to transform how small businesses operate by giving them real control over their customer workflows. Our flagship product, Method CRM is purpose-built for small businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and generic tools. With deep QuickBooks integration and a powerful no-code customization engine, Method enables users to design workflows that truly fit their unique needs. As a scaling growth company, we’re now taking that mission further, leveraging AI to develop intelligent agents that assist users in rapidly building and customizing no-code apps. This innovation is at the heart of our next chapter, and we’re looking for people who are excited to build the future of work The Role As a Technical Lead, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technical direction, mentoring team members on engineering best practices, and ensuring the delivery of high quality features and scalable platform architecture. You will foster team collaboration, drive technical excellence, and ensure the team's success in achieving business objectives through project leadership and deep backend and systems domain expertise. Technical & Delivery Responsibilities Lead technical discussions within your team and across cross functional meetings, fostering collaboration and innovation. Drive project execution. Lead the technical breakdown, estimation, and planning of large features, collaborating closely with Product Managers and QA. Design, build, and optimize core platform systems, including the Business Rules Engine and Data Access Layer, to support complex no code business logic. Architect and implement event driven architecture patterns, ensuring reliable and scalable asynchronous communication across the platform using messaging systems such as SQS. Lead technical integrations with complex third party APIs to extend platform capabilities and support customer use cases. Own the technical implementation of advanced product logic, including areas such as multi warehouse and inventory management systems. Work hands on with tools in AWS, SQS, C#, SQL, .NET, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and React where needed. Make data informed decisions based on system performance metrics, user analytics, and customer feedback. Design and ensure robust, scalable, and observable architecture for critical backend and platform functionalities. Identify and implement areas of improvement within the SDLC, including pipelines, testing, monitoring, performance, and system reliability. Provide technical oversight through rigorous code reviews, technical mentorship, and strategic guidance, leveraging AI assisted tools where applicable. Represent your team's technical roadmap and platform initiatives in department wide meetings, presenting updates and addressing architectural concerns. Team Mentorship & Hiring Contributions Provide coaching and technical guidance to developers on complex problem-solving, design patterns, and platform best practices to support their growth as engineers. Participate in technical interviews to assess candidates' technical skills and contribute to the overall hiring recommendation. Collaborate with QA, PMs, and other cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and project interdependencies. Even if you don’t check every box below, we’d love for you to apply - we are building for the future and growth potential is a priority for us Technical Expertise Advanced knowledge of C#, .NET (Core/7/8/9/10), Web APIs, and backend design patterns such as REST and MVC. Strong mastery of SQL and proven experience architecting high performance data access layers within large scale or distributed systems. Professional experience working with event driven architecture and messaging systems such as SQS, with a solid understanding of asynchronous system design and reliability patterns. Experience designing systems that support complex business logic, abstraction layers, or reusable engines and frameworks, with the ability to think in meta logic and build platforms that enable others to configure or extend functionality. Strong track record of integrating complex third party REST or SOAP APIs into a core product environment. Experience with React and familiarity with front end technologies such as Razor, Blazor, and vanilla JavaScript. Comfortable collaborating on user facing features while primarily operating in backend and platform domains. Strong experience with persistence storage (SQL and NoSQL), ORM frameworks, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS. Proficiency with unit testing, integration testing, caching, messaging architecture, and CI/CD tools. Soft Skills Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
