Growth opportunities and skill development are defining features of the TD experience. Job Description Reports to Team Leader, Claims Services. The Bodily Injury Claims Analyst manages bodily injury tort claims in Alberta, including full investigation of liability and quantum, negotiation and resolution of claims, and travel for mediations, pre‑trials and trials. Responsibilities Investigate claims regarding liability, injuries and other accident‑related damages promptly and thoroughly. Establish and maintain adequate case reserves following BI reserving protocol. Comply with all protocols for identification, notification and reporting to Major Claims. Adhere to claims settlement authority guidelines. Collect and document claims information accurately and concisely. Maintain proactive and sound file handling. Manage both potential indemnity and expense for sound cost management. Exercise sound judgment in evaluating and resolving complex claims. Contact unrepresented claimants and legal counsel to establish trust and cooperation, resolving low‑to‑moderate complexity claims in a timely manner. Manage claimants’ expectations through regular follow‑up and reliable communication. Communicate with clients, witnesses, health‑care professionals, law enforcement and forensic experts regarding their roles. Build business relationships with plaintiff counsel to resolve claims efficiently. Collaborate proactively with defence counsel on claims handling best practices. Complete all required reports and notepad entries on time. Work primarily in an office, with occasional travel for meetings, mediations, JDRs and other out‑of‑office events. Travel may include overnight stays and visits to other locations. Job Requirements Minimum of 2‑3 years of insurance adjusting experience (AB or BI preferred). Strong understanding of the insurance industry and related legal environment. Ability to prioritize and complete all claims activities efficiently. Superior interpersonal and communication skills. Strong client service orientation. Excellent organization and time‑management skills. Effective analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong negotiation skills. Adaptability to a changing environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preference for candidates pursuing or holding a CIP designation or other relevant continuing education.
