Job Description We are seeking a highly experienced leader to provide direction and leadership to Mechanical and Structural staff within the Buildings Engineering Division. This division focuses on delivering buildings engineering and advisory services across British Columbia, collaborating with other offices and serving a diverse client base including industrial clients, public sector entities such as Indigenous, Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Governments, contractors, architects, and other engineering companies. Key Responsibilities Providing operational management and market development, identifying business opportunities, developing marketing plans and executing business development initiatives. Leading client relationships, business, and team development. Ensuring the Division’s financial objectives are met through a yearly business plan, identifying priority prospects for revenue potential. Delivering outstanding service to clients by ensuring successful planning, design, and management of projects. Reviewing proposals to ensure projects align with the company’s capabilities and risk management per the Strategic Plan. Collaborating with other managers on multi‑discipline projects. Keeping staff technically current through conferences, seminars, and attendance recommendations. Ensuring all engineering work follows industry standards, company procedures, and client expectations. Supporting Group and Project Managers with project execution, resource allocation, and risk management. Optimising staff utilisation to meet utilisation targets. Recruiting, hiring, and developing staff careers focused on technical leadership, project and client management. Representing the company in public and professional activities to enhance reputation. Requirements Undergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited post‑secondary institution. Registered, or eligible for registration as a professional engineer with EGBC as a P.Eng. 12+ years of experience in design, engineering, construction and management, including a minimum of 5 years in a consulting capacity. Project management experience on industrial and multi‑discipline projects. Consulting and/or professional experience in B.C. is an asset. Business development experience in both private and public sectors. Experience liaising with clients, contractors, and consultants. Experience coaching and mentoring staff. Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Committed team player and independent worker. Ability to travel across Canada. Possess a valid driver’s licence.
