The Project Design Specialist is a mid‑level professional with a strong engineering background and experience in managing technical documentation. The Project Design Specialist will coordinate design activities, ensure compliance with standards, and oversee document control processes to maintain accuracy and integrity across all project deliverables. Reports to Design Manager Responsibilities Support design projects from concept through completion, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including design, procurement, and production to resolve technical issues. Manage and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications in accordance with company standards. Implement and enforce document control procedures to ensure version accuracy and traceability. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to distribute and update documents. Provide actionable analysis on submissions performance metrics to project managers and leadership. Generate, customize, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports (e.g., document status, submission logs, overdue items, approval timelines). Analyze submission and approval statuses; provide clear, actionable analysis on document performance metrics to project managers and leadership. Maintain dashboards for real‑time visibility of document control health across projects. Review and validate design documents for compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Provide technical input during design reviews and assist in resolving engineering challenges. Develop and maintain detailed schedules for document submissions, reviews, and approvals in alignment with project master schedules. Forecast upcoming submission deadlines and resource requirements based on project phases. Proactively identify potential delays in the document review cycle and propose mitigation strategies. Coordinate with engineering, design, and construction teams to align document delivery with project milestones. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and quality management systems. Support audits and inspections related to document control and project engineering activities. Maintain and enforce the company's document control procedures and standards. Ensure all document control activities comply with project‑specific requirements, ISO standards, or other quality management systems. Manage document numbering, revisions, and archival processes. Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline. 5–8 years of experience in engineering projects, preferably within a design or manufacturing environment. Proven experience in document control systems and processes. Job Requirements Strong understanding of engineering principles and design processes. Proficiency in document management software and CAD tools. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment.
