Technical Test Lead

Job Overview We are looking for a Technical Test Lead to supervise and handle the testing phase of our software development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. As a Technical Test Lead, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop test strategies, create test plans, and complete test cases to ensure the successful delivery of high‑quality software solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead the testing effort throughout the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, execution, and reporting. Collaborate with project managers, developers, and quality assurance teams to define testing objectives, requirements, and priorities. Develop comprehensive test strategies and test plans based on project requirements and specifications. Design and implement automated testing frameworks and tools to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency. Identify, document, and track software defects and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Conduct manual testing as needed, exploring different game scenarios, features, and functionalities to identify bugs and improve quality. Execute regression testing procedures to verify the stability and performance of game builds across various platforms and environments. Maintain defect management using bug tracking systems, prioritizing defects and ensuring resolution and validation. Develop and maintain automated test suites, harnesses, and frameworks using industry‑standard tools and programming languages. Design, execute, and analyze performance tests to identify bottlenecks, optimize game performance, and enhance player experience. Monitor and analyze test results, metrics, and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Mentor and coach team members on testing standard methodologies, tools, and techniques. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in software testing and quality assurance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience (3+ years) in software testing, with a focus on test planning, execution, and automation. Strong technical background. Hands‑on experience with test automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, or JUnit. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work optimally in a fast‑paced environment and lead multiple priorities. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. ISTQB or similar certification is a plus. The pay range for this position in British Columbia at the start of employment is expected to be between $60,700 and $89,860 per year. Base pay offered is based on market location and may vary. The total compensation package may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(k) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. Regular, full‑time employees are eligible for a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance; 14 paid holidays; paid vacation (15–25 days) or discretionary time‑off; up to 10 paid sick days; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs; family planning support; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness‑related expenses.
