Quality Co ordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as per regulatory and customer requirements.
• Performs quality program re-assessment annually and updates as required.
• Major role in internal and 3rd party audits (Organic, Kosher, Halal, Informed Choice, NSF).
• Performs investigations, root-cause analysis, follow-up, and verification activities required to ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
• Performs annual and re-fresher training as per GMP and Technical Training Program.
• Performed the onsite verification activities to ensure quality program is implemented effectively.
• Oversees multiple programs including Vendor Approval, Equipment Calibration, Environmental Monitoring, Pest Management, and Sanitation Program.
• Conducts record review of BPRs (Batch Manufacturing Records) and other quality monitoring records.
• Conducts label and Finished Product Specifications approvals, review, and updates.
• Works with other departments from the organization to determine and establish procedures/quality standards.
• Collect and compile data; perform analysis, illustrate trends, and updates quality KPIs.
• Order/purchase various quality related materials (e.g., lab equipment, sanitation swabs, etc.).
• Making recommendations to improve efficiencies and productivity
• Provides back-up coverage for QA Technicians (Lab, Receiving, or In-process QA).
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Behavioral Requirements:
• BA/BS degree or the equivalent practical experience in food technology.
• HACCP/NSF certification is as asset
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Food, Pharmaceutical, or Natural Health Products Manufacturing facility.
• Knowledge, understanding, and interpretation of GMP, Quality Programs, and applicable regulations (Natural Health Product regulations, 21 CFR 111, Safe Food for Canadians regulations.)
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,)
• Leadership – must demonstrate the ability to lead and influence others in the value of continuous improvement
• Critical Thinker and problem-solving skills– must be able to tactfully challenge the status quo and stimulate change initiatives
• Effective Communicator- effective listener, encourage open communication and sharing of ideas amongst team members.
• Organization- must possess the ability to organize and manage the implementation of multiple worklists
• Deliver Results- Reliable, consistent, and self -motivated
