Associate Localization Specialist

Job Title: Associate Localization Specialist (Contract) Pay Rate: $22-$25/hr on W2 Location: Bedford, Nova Scotia (B4B 0V1) Contract Length: 13 months Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM About the Role We are seeking an Associate Localization Specialist to support the creation of high-quality, localized product content for global markets. This role plays a key part in delivering customer-focused experiences by ensuring content is accurate, culturally relevant, and consistent across products and services. As part of the Customer Experience team, you will collaborate closely with internal partners, regional reviewers, and external translation agencies. You will contribute to content that is meaningful, engaging, and aligned with customer expectations in each local market. Key Responsibilities Prepare and optimize content for localization, including UI labels, voice recording scripts, closed captions, eHelp content, user guides, and other deliverables Identify localization requirements such as character limits and non-translatable text Follow established localization workflows, processes, and brand guidelines Manage localization activities for assigned target markets Coordinate and communicate effectively with translation agencies, regional reviewers, product teams, and other stakeholders Troubleshoot and resolve localization-related issues Submit and manage purchase requests for translation services Qualifications Required: University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience in a related field Minimum of one year of experience ordering or managing translations, ideally in a software or healthcare-related environment Ability to quickly learn and understand complex software products Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills Ability and willingness to work on-site in the Halifax area Nice to Have: Experience using AI tools within translation or localization workflows Experience creating or using ChatGPT agents Background as a linguist or translator Software UI localization experience Familiarity with translation management systems such as Lokalise, Memsource, Smartling, Phrase, or Transifex Fluency in a language other than English Hands-on translation experience Knowledge of XML formats such as XLIFF EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT: Suna Solutions provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
