Who We Are Yukon Government’s Department of Health and Social Services provides a range of services to support health and wellness, including community and mental wellness, social supports, and planning for long-term healthy outcomes for the population. Who We Are Looking For We are looking for Physician Claims Assessors who are responsible for the assessment and payment of physicians in accordance with the Payment Schedule for Yukon and the Memorandum of Agreement between Yukon Government Department of Health and Social Services and the Yukon Medical Association. Reporting to the Manager of Registration, Hospital Claims and Physician Claims, this position is responsible for providing payment to physicians in/out of Territory for eligible medical services provided to residents under the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan, in accordance with the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan Act and Regulations. Responsibilities Provide payment to physicians in and out of Territory for eligible medical services to residents under the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan in line with the governing acts and agreements. Post-secondary coursework/certification in business administration, office administration, or related field Experience interpreting and applying various legislation Experience with computer programs including databases and Microsoft Office Knowledge of and/or application of medical terminology Experience in the assessment of medical claims is an asset Candidates with education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications may be equally considered.
