This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent and 2 (until March 31st, 2027) term positions working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for Physician Claims Assessors who are responsible for the assessment and payment of physicians in accordance with the Payment Schedule for Yukon and the Memorandum of Agreement between Yukon Government Department of Health and Social Services and the Yukon Medical Association. Reporting to the Manager of Registration, Hospital Claims and Physician Claims, this position is responsible for providing payment to physicians in/out of Territory for eligible medical services that are provided to residents registered under the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan in accordance with the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan Act and Regulations.

Essential qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

• Post-secondary coursework/certification in business administration, office administration, or other related field
• Experience working and interpreting various legislation
• Considerable experience using a variety of computer programs including database programs and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of and or application of medical terminology
• Experience in the assessment of medical claims would be an asset

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
