Montreal administrative region, Canada Lamour Full time

Family‑owned since 1953, Lamour Inc. has earned a reputation for being the best choice in socks, performance apparel, hosiery and lingerie. In fact, we’re among the world’s top 5 players in activewear basics, the world’s leading manufacturer of seamless garments, and one of Canada’s leading sock manufacturers. As a one‑stop shop, we work innovatively and passionately to deliver exceptional quality and value to a diverse international customer base. It’s our focus on performance fabric technology and product innovation, investment in manufacturing excellence, speed‑to‑market and supply‑chain execution that enables us to build meaningful, strong and sustainable retail partnerships across multiple trade channels. What We’re Looking For As the Product Development Coordinator, you’ll support the full material development cycle for our fast‑growing US Off‑Price business. You’ll drive fabric innovation, raw material research, global costing, sample management, and testing—working closely with Sourcing, Design, QC, Commercial, and overseas suppliers. This role is key in building our material, pricing, and sourcing intelligence. Global Costing, Benchmarking & Price Intelligence Manage costing requests across China, Pakistan, India, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Benchmark global material, trim, elastic, packaging, and CM costs. Analyze yarn trends, dyeing/printing surcharges, duties, landed cost models, and supplier competitiveness. Build costing dashboards and maintain the Supplier Cost Intelligence Database. Support negotiations through fact‑based comparisons (tariffs, duties, freight). Provide accurate pre‑development costing guidance. Fabric & Raw Material Development Lead development of new fabrics (knits, performance finishes, innovations). Collaborate with mills/factories on yarns, blends, finishes, and performance properties. Review proto fabrics for construction, performance, stretch recovery, shrinkage, and handfeel. Approve lab dips and strike‑offs; document and track proto fabric submissions. Build and maintain a comprehensive US Off‑Price Fabric Library (fiber content, construction, supplier, performance, cost tiers, MOQ, lead time). Align fabric standards with Canadian R&D and Design Development teams. Trim, Elastic & Label Development Develop elastics (jacquard, heat‑transfer, printed, brushed). Collaborate with label suppliers on woven, printed, and heat‑seal labels. Research and recommend new trims/materials suited for Off‑Price programs. Validate performance and cost feasibility for all trims and elastics. Sample Management & Development Follow‑Up Track all development samples (fabrics, trims, elastics) and manage approvals. Prepare fabric swatches and materials for sales presentations. Coordinate sample readiness with suppliers for sales, photo, and packaging samples. Ensure correctness and availability of materials for photo sample production. Prepare swatch boards and specification sheets. Track fabric and trim submissions through all stages and maintain a visible development dashboard. Fabric Testing & Quality Validation Initiate all fabric testing (pilling, shrinkage, colorfastness, stretch recovery, wicking, bursting strength, snag tests, etc.). Coordinate with QC and suppliers to ensure correct bulk materials are tested and aligned with brand standards. Review, organize, and file TRFs; flag issues proactively. Maintain testing summaries by material. Requirements Strong understanding of fabrics (knits, wovens), yarns, construction, finishes, and performance properties. Experience working with trims, elastics, labels, and embellishments. Solid costing intuition with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, costing models, data analysis) and familiarity with PLM/ERP systems (Blue Cherry is a plus). Knowledge of fabric testing standards (AATCC, ASTM) and comfort reviewing TRFs. Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple developments simultaneously. Strong communicator with excellent follow‑up, especially with overseas suppliers. Independent, resourceful, proactive, and thrives in a fast‑paced, growth‑driven environment.
