Role Overview The Team Lead, Quality Assurance will support the Chief Information Officer Branch, leading QA team and activities in the development of the next‑generation Grants & Contribution application. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for quality. Responsibilities Lead QA processes and teams, providing advisory services on quality assurance standards, technologies and frameworks. Provide expert QA advice to management, clients and developers. Establish a QA Definition of Done, implementing QA processes and procedures using Azure DevOps. Identify new technologies and ideas to meet QA needs, both manual and automated. Lead development of reusable automation test assets and artifacts, such as browser driver abstraction and UI test frameworks. Mentor and supervise other QA resources, sharing expertise to improve team effectiveness. Screening Criteria Education: Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Experience Experience supervising and leading work teams engaged in quality assurance processes, both manual and automated. Extensive experience writing test plans, test suites and test cases (minimum 7 years). Significant experience with Selenium framework, .NET and C# (minimum 2‑6 years). Significant experience with XML/JSON data, deserialization, XPath and CSS selectors. Significant experience with Visual Studio unit test projects and architecture. Significant experience with Visual Studio and Azure DevOps/VSTS. Condition of Employment Reliability Status: verification of background information over a 5‑year period is required. Language Requirements Bilingual Imperative CBC/CNC. Assessment Criteria Technical competencies Plan and manage team activities. Advanced knowledge of OOP best practices, interface design, dependency inversion and injection. Review business requirements and develop test plans, suites and cases in Azure DevOps (or similar). Create, modify and maintain unit tests using Visual Studio, C#, Selenium or Playwright. Manage test data with XML or JSON files across multiple environments. Research and analyze QA needs to recommend solutions. Bilingualism bonus: $800 per year.
