We’re looking for a progressive-thinking and innovativeDirector, GTA to join the Minerals & Metals leadership team in GTA (Toronto and Burlington). This role reports directly to the Vice President, Eastern Canada and is responsible for driving the growth of the GTA Minerals & Metals business by leveraging industry knowledge and strategic partnerships. As part of Ausenco’s broader business development strategy, the Director, GTA will play a key leadership role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, while fostering strong, long-term relationships with both existing and prospective clients. This position requires a strategic mindset and a deep understanding of client priorities, from financial drivers to project objectives. The Director, GTA will champion Ausenco’s integrated service offerings, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll be responsible for guiding new study opportunities from initial client engagement through to internal handover, ensuring seamless alignment between client goals and delivery outcomes. About the role Act as a brand ambassador to promote and strengthen Ausenco’s presence and reputation in local markets through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and market-specific initiatives Monitor the industry’s business environment and track relevant trends for consideration in the group business plan. Identify and develop a strong pipeline of high-potential opportunities by leveraging market insight, industry relationships, proactive outreach, and collaboration with marketing and business development efforts. Lead strategic pursuits by building new client relationships, contributing to win strategies, and overseeing the preparation of high-quality proposals that align with RFP requirements and position Ausenco for success. Monitor and understand the financial performance of the group versus budget, and work with the Vice President and leadership team when required on reporting/forecasting Contribute to the successful planning and execution of Ausenco studies/projects across the region relative to the client’s business needs. Support these efforts through regular monitoring and reporting. Coach Project and Study Managers in preparation for and debriefing of key client interactions Provide support and guidance to direct reports, ensuring maintenance of a productive and engaging work environment that drives personal and professional development. Develop, monitor, execute and reevaluate the local marketing strategy and plan Research trends and new marketing opportunities, and brainstorm new ideas About you: 15+ years proven engineering delivery and project management experience with an engineering consulting firm or other large organization; construction experience is an asset. Bachelor’s degree in engineering Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) Previous experience leading and guiding engineering teams. Eagerness to pursue business opportunities, present to prospective clients, and convert these leads into work for Ausenco. A strong commercial sense and experience expanding and developing business with new and existing clients through the development, execution, and maintenance of market segment strategic plans. The ability to create and share a sense of direction, give clear direction to individuals and teams and willingness to coach and mentor others to build business capability for the future. Attendance at seminars and advanced accreditation in management, administration, business or engineering is normally required. Why Ausenco?
