This position is temporary and is expected to last approximately 16-17 months. The opportunity: We are looking for a skilled Manager, HR Services and Total Rewards to lead our Payroll, Benefits, and HR Systems team. This role provides leadership, oversight, and guidance to the Payroll, Benefits, and HR Systems team, ensuring the efficient delivery of payroll processing, pension and benefits management, HRIS optimization, HR analytics, and reporting. The Manager will support the Director with the development and implementation of compensation and benefits strategies that align with our company's goals and values. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Oversight: Provide guidance and direction to the Payroll, Benefits, and HR Systems team, ensuring effective leadership and support. Payroll Operations: Oversee day-to-day payroll operations, including audits, controls and reporting, and drive continuous improvement to enhance process efficiency. HRIS Management: Manage HRIS system matters, including escalated service cases, system enhancement projects, and performance monitoring to maximize system effectiveness. People Metrics & Reporting: Support the development and refinement of people metrics and reporting to support data-driven decision-making. Compensation Cycle: Support the annual compensation cycle, including salary surveys, analysis, adjustment recommendations, and manage merit and short-term incentive administration. Service Provider Management: Oversee relationships with service providers related to Payroll and Total Rewards portfolios. Total Rewards: Assist the Director of HR in the development and implementation of Total Rewards programs. You have: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Accounting, Administration or a related field. 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on payroll and HR Systems. Proven leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire and develop others. Expert knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation. Payroll Designation through the Canadian Payroll Association and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification is an asset. Experience with fully integrated HRIS applications (UKG Pro is used at Canpotex and is preferred, but any large system is valuable such as SAP, Workday, ADP, etc.) Proven experience in HR data management, analysis and reporting. You bring: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach. Strong ability to build and maintain relationships, work collaboratively with diverse teams, and engage with employees at all levels. Ability to approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, thinking critically to address issues and make decisions. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain trust and integrity. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
