The Chinook School Division requires a full time (1.0 FTE) teacher at Swift Current Comprehensive High School beginning August 27, 2024. This position will include a 0.66 FTE continuing contract and a 0.34 FTE temporary contract (end date of temporary contact is January 31, 2025 with possibility of an extension). SCCHS is a grade 9-12 school with 952 students and 53 teachers.

Qualifications:

Effective interpersonal and communication skills;

Proven ability to work collaboratively and an ability to work in a team environment;

A teaching philosophy that reflects a constructivist and cooperative learning approach;

Ability to work effectively within an environment which includes developing meaningful and productive relationships with students, parents, PLC’s, professionals and community service agencies;

Demonstrated ability to connect with youth in a student-centered learning environment in addition to having an interest or willingness to connect with students outside of the classroom;

Demonstrates a commitment to truth and reconciliation

Demonstrates a commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion

Successful teaching experience or training;

Certified as a Teacher in good standing in Saskatchewan or the ability to be certified.
