Senior Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team, focusing on enhancing infrastructure capabilities as we position ourselves for notable growth in transaction volume. This role will involve driving critical infrastructure decisions and bolstering our security measures as our operations expand significantly. About the Role In this position, you will design and implement a robust infrastructure framework that supports the next generation of financial services, ensuring compliance, security, scalability, and the ability to manage substantial financial transactions. Key Responsibilities Design and deploy infrastructure that effectively supports rapid transaction volume growth while ensuring high reliability and performance. Architect and maintain compliance with standards such as PCI DSS 4.0 and SOC 2 Type II across all production systems. Manage and optimize a cloud infrastructure stack, including various platform services. Develop and enhance our infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform. Establish and maintain observability systems for application performance, infrastructure monitoring, and alerting. Lead security initiatives, focusing on encryption strategies, secret management, and compliance automation. Strive for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the infrastructure at scale. Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy and monitor payment processing systems effectively. Establish best practices for infrastructure and mentor team members on cloud architecture and DevOps principles. Ideal Candidate Profile 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering, including a minimum of 3 years with cloud platform services. Strong knowledge of cloud services and networking. Expertise in using Terraform for managing infrastructure. Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and deployment automation. Familiarity with observability tools for application and infrastructure monitoring. Solid understanding of security practices and compliance frameworks. A history of building and maintaining high-volume, high-availability systems. Experience in incident response, troubleshooting, and drafting postmortems. Effective communication skills, enabling translation of technical decisions to both engineering teams and leadership. Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership toward reliability, security, and performance. Bonus Attributes Experience in financial systems, payment processing, or fintech infrastructure. Skills in PostgreSQL performance tuning and scaling. Knowledge of optimization strategies for caching systems. Direct involvement with compliance initiatives like PCI DSS or SOC 2. Contributions to open-source projects in infrastructure. Experience with compliance automation tools.
