Reporting to the VP Construction, the Estimator will be responsible for estimating and analyzing project costs. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of estimating experience, is highly analytical and has a strong understanding of construction documents. Our client is a leader in the Real Estate Development & Construction space with over 60 years of experience.


Please note that the core hours are 9am-5pm from Mon-Fri, and the role works full-time onsite in the office.


The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Maintains contact and relationships with private individuals and other organizations.
  • Participate in field visits and pre-tender meetings.
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
  • Continually updates technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other tasks as required.


Qualification and Required Skills / Experience:

  • Strong analytic abilities
  • Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and word processing programs
  • Understanding of construction documents
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to coordinate and work independently
  • Knowledge of CAD software
  • Knowledge of Plan Swift a bonus
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work;
  • Ability to learn new roles and complete tasks with accuracy;
  • A “can do” attitude and willingness to step in and help whenever needed;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of management within the company as well as outside the organization;
  • This is an in-office position. No option for remote work is available;
  • Site visits will be a key part of this role.
