Reporting to the VP Construction, the Estimator will be responsible for estimating and analyzing project costs. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of estimating experience, is highly analytical and has a strong understanding of construction documents. Our client is a leader in the Real Estate Development & Construction space with over 60 years of experience.Please note that the core hours are 9am-5pm from Mon-Fri, and the role works full-time onsite in the office.The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.Maintains contact and relationships with private individuals and other organizations.Participate in field visits and pre-tender meetings.Identifies labor, material, and time requirements.Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.Continually updates technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Other tasks as required.Qualification and Required Skills / Experience:Strong analytic abilitiesWorking knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and word processing programsUnderstanding of construction documentsAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAbility to coordinate and work independentlyKnowledge of CAD softwareKnowledge of Plan Swift a bonusExcellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work;Ability to learn new roles and complete tasks with accuracy;A “can do” attitude and willingness to step in and help whenever needed;Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of management within the company as well as outside the organization;This is an in-office position. No option for remote work is available;Site visits will be a key part of this role.
