Role Overview Community Health Services Centre — Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS) clinic in Kelowna, BC, is a regional, tertiary, community mental health program supporting youth and adults with intellectual disability and moderate to severe psychiatric concerns. The position offers opportunity for direct client contact as well as outreach visits to other Interior Health locations. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing management for youth (age 14 and over) and adults affected by developmental disabilities and concurrent mental illness with significant complexity. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support clients based on assessment recommendations and outcomes. Engage in team‑based care interventions when partnering with allied health professionals. Core Competencies Strong psychopharmacologic skills, including understanding of research and novel therapeutics. Deep understanding of the impact of pre‑morbid neurodevelopmental disorders on mental illness. Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques for patients with neurodevelopmental disorders. Experience and commitment to multidisciplinary, collaborative team care. Additional Opportunities Option to blend this position with acute care and community mental health team roles. Potential to support the Interior Health Children’s Assessment Network. Opportunities for medical leadership, research, quality improvement, and teaching of UBC medical students, FP residents, and psychiatry residents. Travel and outreach to regional communities as needed. Leadership Development Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program provides comprehensive leadership development for physicians early in their careers. Compensation and Benefits Compensation Type – Combination, estimated remuneration $250,000 – $350,000, full‑time, plus MOCAP level 2. Benefits and Incentives – Relocation assistance $9,000 – $15,000 (based on move location, with eligible receipts).
