Mechanical Designer

Description Has in-depth knowledge in 3D system or Balance of Plant (BOP) design and can generate designs of complex equipment and produce 3D models with minimal guidance. They work in a multi-discipline project team to generate 3D CAD project documentation for water and wastewater treatment systems including general arrangements, skid or module assemblies, fabrication details, piping layouts, piping isometrics and bills of materials. Responsibilities: · Perform mechanical and process design of water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring design quality, while meeting project schedule, budget, and customers’ expectations · Perform required calculations needed to specify equipment, including (but not limited to) general hydraulics, chemical feed systems, vessels/tanks, pumps, filters, blowers, compressed air systems, piping systems, valves and instrumentation Job Breakdown: 50% Technical of two first bullets above 50% Non technical of organizing, documentation and vendor communication. Skills solidworks, mechanical, design, piping, piping design, Process Industry, Food & Beverage, Chemicals, Oil and Gas, Hazardous, Epc, EPCM, asme, Compressors, Valves, Pumps, pfds, P&IDS, water treatment Additional Skills & Qualifications MUST HAVE 1: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering MUST HAVE 2: 5+ years of CAD drafting/design experience with SOLIDWORKS MUST HAVE 3: Experience with SOLIDWORKS Routing and Weldmats add-ins MUST HAVE 4: Ability to read P&IDs and PFDs (including material balances) NICE TO HAVE 1: AutoCAD Plant 3D experience NICE TO HAVE 2: Must be able to work with hydaulic designs including calculations for sizing pumps, compressors, valves, and/ or tanks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oakville, ON. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
