Project Geologist

Aurora Geosciences (Aurora) is a mineral exploration consulting company that has been operating for over 40 years and has offices located in Whitehorse, Yellowknife, Vancouver and Juneau AK. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Geologist would be responsible to work with appropriate clients to organize, supervise and direct mineral exploration programs across northern Canada. This is a field based position. Candidates should be prepared to complete data processing and writing technical reports as well as being physically fit and capable of working in remote and rugged areas under various climate conditions for extended periods of time. Candidates should also be prepared to travel extensively. Responsibilities Geochemical survey design, planning and execution Diamond and RC Drill program design, planning and execution Manage, direct, supervise and work alongside field crews at the project location Provide training and supervision to field crews To prepare field, technical, assessment and other reports Accurately track project expenditures Ensure company and client operational standards are adhered to Qualifications Professional registration as a Geologist in Canada Minimum 10 years related experience, specifically working on drill programs The ability to efficiently manage multiple projects Practical and professional experience executing field programs Experience with geological services that Aurora provides An understanding of the logistical and operational challenges of conducting mineral exploration in the NT, YT & NU Effective written and verbal communication skills Proficient computer and other technology-related skills The ability to effectively manage a large number of conflicting tasks and priorities Excellent time and stress management skills The ability to be an effective leader #J-18808-Ljbffr
