Intermediate/Senior Environmental Specialist

Job Duties:You will carry out your duties in consultation with RRRM Project Managers. The primary duties include but are not limited to: Technical oversight, supervision, and mentoring on a variety of reclamation site assessments, wellsite, facility and pipeline surface reclamation assessment projectsProject planning, coordination, execution and management both in field and in the officeField work including, but not limited to: vegetation monitoring assessments, Detailed Site Assessments, and tree plant program supervision coordinationProficiency assessing forested soils/vegetation and peatland classification/vegetationSupervision of third parties, field staff and office staff as requiredField and reporting experience with Phase I, II, and III ESA’sData interpretation, analysis and reportingBudget preparation and controlMaintenance of client relationshipsThird-party stakeholder interactionsParticipation in company and client specific health and safety programsYou will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of Professional Engineers, Geologists, Biologists, Chemists and Agrologists, technical administrators, business development and health and safety professionals, and an in-house IT department.Qualifications:University degree or diploma from a recognized institution with a specialty in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscienceFive to ten years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamationRegistration, or eligibility for registration, with a relevant professional organization (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)Professional designation or potential to obtain professional designation from a professional association in Alberta and Saskatchewan (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)Proficient with Alberta regulations and guidelines related to surface reclamationProficiency with both the Alberta 2010 Forested Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities and the Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities for Peatlands (2017)Familiarity with BC restoration guidelines and best practices is an assetStrong analytical and technical writing skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project team environmentExceptional accuracy and attention to detailAbility to take initiative and ownership and work independentlyExcellent multitasking and problem-solving skills
