Our client, an established public sector organisation is looking for an experienced Project Controls Specialist to support the development and ongoing sustainment of a robust resource forecasting and management system. This role will plays a key part in planning, controls, data integrity, and resource forecasting. This is a 1-year contract with potential to extend - hybrid in Vancouver. What you’ll be doing: Working with large datasets—extracting, transforming, and loading system data to build accurate resource forecasts across several departments. Collaborating with project teams to ensure clean data collection and resolve inconsistencies. Preparing reports and documentation to support management-level forecasting requests. Using Primavera P6 at an advanced level. Leveraging tools such as SAP Business Warehouse (BW/4HANA) and SAP Analytics Cloud . Applying intermediate programming skills (VBA, SAS, R, Python) and business intelligence tools (Power BI, DAX, M, dataflows). Working in a capital construction or utility environment—experience here is an asset. Planning, directing, and reporting on complex infrastructure or construction projects, including managing risks, benefits, resources, schedules, and documentation. Developing plans for high-risk, high-value capital projects (often $100M+). Coordinating multiple project activities such as engineering, stakeholder engagement, procurement, planning, construction management, and safety. Using advanced MS Office and project management tools to support project lifecycles. Building relationships with stakeholders, engineers, and field teams through clear communication. Applying strong analytical skills and project management best practices to optimize resources and delivery. What you need: 7+ years in Project Controls or Management Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field. Engineering degree preferred (not mandatory). PMP® designation preferred. Program management experience is an asset. Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project). Strong written and verbal communication skills.
