The Procurement Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and cost effectiveness of purchasing decisions and processes within the North American Baking Division. Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Supply Chain NAB, the role emphasizes collecting cost benchmarks, evaluating value of supply offers (quality/service), and executing procurement decisions for the NAB manufacturing facilities. The primary scope of coverage is raw materials for fermentation, filtration and packaging. May further consist of service contracts (including energy/utilities/wastewater), and other indirect purchases (lab and equipment) as determined by the Director of Procurement. Location: Boucherville, Quebec, Canada. Responsibilities Communicate with existing and new vendors to collect cost information. Evaluate supply offers with key personnel as to operational feasibility of the offer (Plant Managers, Quality Assurance). Document cost parameters to be used as a reference by other key decision makers. Drive decisions by focusing on financial benefits, supply security, and other parameters of continuous improvement. Negotiate price agreements/contracts for execution by the Director of Procurement and Supply Chain NAB. Validate execution and compliance with each site. Qualifications Technical skills Required: Strong costing analytical skills; ability to work across multiple data parameters to consolidate and communicate information; strong negotiation ability; industry relationships; understanding of economic principles that drive price/value calculations.
