Opportunity Join our team as a Bilingual Procurement Manager in Montreal, leading procurement activities for major infrastructure projects and ensuring cost efficiency, compliance and strong supplier relationships. What You’ll Do Manage the planning, procurement, and movement of materials, and administer subcontracts. Drive consistent procurement and contracting practices across the organization. Oversee all procurement disciplines: subcontracts, purchasing, material management, expediting, and logistics. Source suppliers, negotiate contracts and pricing, and order materials to meet operational requirements. Work with subcontractors, projects, and legal teams to negotiate and execute subcontracts, MSAs and terms and conditions. Provide status updates on procurement awards and administration. Track savings achieved through effective purchasing and cost control initiatives. Ensure ethical procurement activity that adheres to the procurement policy. Lead the development and implementation of project‑specific procurement plans, coordinating with project controls to ensure compliance with contract conditions and Aecon standards. Support Operations & Project Controls teams on subcontractor claims assessment, client claims development, negotiations and dispute resolutions. Provide commercial and technical expertise to support proposal development and contractually defined project control requirements. Ensure adherence to all contract conditions regarding procurement requirements, project set‑up, monitoring and close‑out. Create, promote, and maintain a safe, open and respectful workplace culture. Provide feedback and guidance to direct reports for goal setting; support career development plans and training opportunities. Conduct annual performance reviews (with mid‑year check‑ins) and implement performance improvement plans, with support from Human Resources. Participate in project‑level resource planning, utilisation analysis and resource leveling; manage and maintain Project Controls staffing plan forecasts. What You Bring to the Team Minimum of 10 years of recent related experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics or materials management. University degree in Business or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred, construction industry experience a plus). Understanding of Aecon’s technical business from a procurement perspective. Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and build relationships across multiple functions. Engineering or Quantity Surveying background would be an asset. Superior negotiation and commercial skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Self‑starter with a sense of urgency, meeting deadlines under pressure. Ability to handle multiple competing tasks and analyse complex data to support decision‑making. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Passion for excellence and demonstrated goal‑achievement orientation. Experience in leadership and project management, with strong influence skills. Knowledge of SAP and strong organisational skills. Strategic mindset and ability to consistently execute mandates. Proven ability to identify and solve problems quickly. Strong numerical and analytical aptitude.
