Job Description Day & Ross is looking for a P & D Planner to manage the planning, organizing, and monitoring of freight to ensure optimal utilization of dock space, equipment, and freight movements. How You’ll Help Creating routes/load plans that meet customer experience, operational efficiencies, and cost savings for the company and its driver/broker community. Reviewing route/load plans within the system and making necessary adjustments, including appointment freight. Triggering optimization when required to align the P & D plan. Ensuring all trailer and route planning complies with transportation laws and company policies regarding weight, distribution, ensuring compliance with dangerous goods regulations. Planning dock loading, unloading, and staging locations and monitoring dock door assignments. Monitoring and reviewing close times and productivity, noting trends to support improvement initiatives. Ensuring shipments are status coded when being added or removed from the load plan. Suggesting improvements in planning and dock processes for increased efficiency. Performing other related duties as required. Your Skills & Experience Minimum secondary education; post‑secondary education in supply chain or logistics management preferred. Suitable combination of post‑secondary education and experience will be considered. Two to three years of experience in dock and/or P & D dispatch operations, preferably in the transportation industry. Additional experience in the transportation industry may be considered an asset. Strong communication skills in both English and French. Advanced computer skills, including MS Office and web‑based programs; experience with Truckmate or Bringg is an asset. Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Analytical thinker capable of data analysis and operational decision‑making. Strong sense of urgency and calm response to demands. Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills for managing demands and resolving issues. Strong problem‑solving skills with proactive solutions for operational demands and efficiencies. Results focused. Strong attention to detail and process driven. Time management and collaborative. Ability to quickly implement feedback into processes.
