Your role The work is varied and may include some or all of the responsibilities mentioned below: Design and analysis of Mechanical/Civil engineering structural systems. Structural design and assessment – Fatigue, Fracture and Structural integrity analysis/Stress analysis/Engineering substantiation studies to international standards. Building /Plant systems design and analysis through Finite Element Modelling. Significant experience in Finite Element (FE) Modelling and Analysis using ABAQUS or ANSYS. Represent physical problem of mechanical structural components/assemblies in a FE model (mainly in ABAQUS and/or ANSYS) independently. Perform various analyses, infer results and suggest design changes. Develop finite element models from the drawings and exercise engineering judgement on element selection for the built FE models. Prepare conceptual and detail design packages, including optioneering, design development, and concept evaluation. Design by rule based calculations including calculation of structural thickness etc. Equipment selection (including material selection) and procurement including technical bid evaluation, vendor drawing review. Produce deliverables such as design definition and substantiation documents, detailed equipment specifications, pipe material specifications, system performance test specifications. Develop project technical proposals, scopes, schedules and budget estimates for mechanical discipline work, and produce technical notes and stress reports for the structural elements like buildings, primary and secondary industrial structures. Operational improvement and life extension studies. Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (ME/BE, M.Tech/B.Tech or equivalent). Chartered Engineer or in the process of obtaining chartership from a professional institution. Industry Experience Experience in Nuclear, Power, Oil & Gas, or other highly regulated industrial environments preferred. Familiarity with international design codes and standards (e.g., ASME BPVC Section III, RCC‑M, ASME B31.1, PSSR 2000, BS EN 13480, BS EN 13445). Technical Skills Proficient in producing and supervising engineering analyses and calculations. Experience in mechanical engineering design, including detailed technical reports. Skilled in Finite Element Modeling (FEM) using ABAQUS, ANSYS, Hypermesh, PATRAN/NASTRAN. Experience in Linear/Non‑Linear Static, Frequency, Buckling, Explicit, and Seismic analysis. CAD modeling experience with CATIA v5, Creo. Familiar with tools like Mathcad, Matlab. Programming/scripting knowledge in Python, VBA, Power BI. Understanding of other relevant engineering disciplines. Project & Team Management Ability to manage multiple projects, including resource scheduling and time allocation. Lead requirements capture and define project scope. Deliver projects on Time, Cost, and Quality. Mentor and manage junior engineers. Participate in client design reviews and life extension studies. Exposure to project management principles is desirable. Communication & Interpersonal Skills Ability to write accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports. Strong team player with a professional approach and commercial awareness. Comfortable working in international teams and flexible to travel globally.
