Our client in the professional services sector is looking for a SharePoint Governance consultant with expertise in Data Privacy and SharePoint governance.


Location: remote with occasional travel to Vancouver office

Duration: 6 months + ext


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for information protection and governance.
  • Conduct design workshops to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design, build, and configure Microsoft Purview Information Protection Classifiers to categorize and protect sensitive information.
  • Develop and implement Sensitivity Labels and Labelling policies to ensure data is properly classified and protected.
  • Create and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to prevent unauthorized sharing and leakage of sensitive information.
  • Provide governance guidance to ensure SharePoint environments are compliant with organizational policies and industry regulations.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for SharePoint security, data management, and user access.
  • Monitor SharePoint usage and ensure adherence to governance policies.
  • Provide expert advice on security best practices for SharePoint and related Microsoft 365 services.
  • Assist in the implementation of security measures and controls to protect SharePoint environments.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.



Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in SharePoint governance and security.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Sensitivity Labels, Labelling policies, and DLP policies.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing information protection and governance solutions in SharePoint.
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, administration, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, or similar.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 governance and security solutions.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Experience in conducting security assessments and audits.
