Assistant Controller

The ideal candidate must possess strong accounting knowledge and be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced company. The candidate should be self-motivated and a team player.
Manage sales taxes processes, reporting and payments in compliance with government authorities
Prepare various financial statements, reports and year-end files
Support coordination and supervision of the month-end closing
General Ledger analysis, reconciliation and journal entry posting
Collaborate in the annual operating budget process
Review Intercompany charges and loan reconciliations
Manage government accesses (MRQ, CRA)
Remain up to date on new accounting requirements
Review internal processes to identify areas for improvement
Create, analyze and manage various reports in Excel
Execute any other administrative and accounting related task to support the Accounting Department.
CPA Designation is a plus
3-5 years of relevant experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel
Proficient in the use of Accounting systems (i.e. QB, Unicom, Sage 50)
Working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems is a plus.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Excellent attention to detail, methodical and analytical
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
