JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Assistant Controller who thrives in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment who is driven for success. You will directly contribute to a rapidly growing organization by supporting the Finance Team in all the accounting and finance functions.

The ideal candidate must possess strong accounting knowledge and be highly motivated to work hands-on in a fast-paced company. The candidate should be a team player with internal drive and a strong potential for professional growth and development.

Reports to : Controller

Essential Functions:

  • Support coordination and supervision of the month-end closing
  • General Ledger analysis, reconciliation and journal entry posting
  • Implement new accounting requirements
  • Accounting system administrator
  • Treasury management – Daily cash reporting and monitoring
  • Liaison with Bank back office on daily functions and resolution of adhoc issues
  • Manage sales taxes processes, reporting and payments in compliance with government authorities and all related correspondence
  • Review Intercompany charges and loan reconciliations
  • Collaborate in the annual operating budget process
  • Manage government accesses (MRQ, CRA)
  • Management of all corporate files
  • Review internal processes to identify areas for improvement
  • Create, analyze and manage various reports in Excel
  • Execute any other administrative and accounting related task to support the Executive Management Accounting Department

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA designation is a plus
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel
  • Proficient in the use of accounting systems (i.e. QB, Unicom, Sage 50)
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Excellent attention to detail, methodical and analytical
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Pleasant, professional, team player
  • Autonomous and solution oriented
