ECHO Power Equipment (Canada) is a well-established, premier supplier in the Outdoor Power Equipment Industry in Canada. We are currently seeking a talented and team-oriented individual who provides service excellence and VIP service to our dealers in the role of:
General Manager
Reporting to the President of ECHO USA and working closely with the Canadian Management team, the General Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day business operations by providing and ensuring strategic growth and goals are met to foster continued sustainable growth as the company's success continues. The successful candidate will be well versed in all aspects of business operations with a focus on strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
· Maintaining the day-to-day operations of the business concentrating on business growth and strategy
· Work closely with the Management team to promote functional collaboration across multiple departments and to encourage a team environment to align with the companies' values.
· Develop and execute organizational strategies to achieve the companies' objectives.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and changes in the market relevant to the industry.
· Maintain a strong understanding of financial management to ensure departmental objectives are met.
· Develop annual budgets and prepare monthly forecast updates.
· Analysis of the business impact on new product lines and development
· Encouraging employee engagement and productivity by providing learning opportunities as well as promoting retention and talent development.
· Identify opportunities to promote the company, develop and maintaining a strong industry presence.
· Demonstrating successful negotiating while maintaining relationships with customers and partners.
· Resolves problems and implements measures to improve efficiency/productivity.
· Extensive operational planning and project management to develop and execute plans to meet deadlines to drive customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
· Ensuring business compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and other business partners.
Key Qualifications:
- University degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years' progressive senior-level leadership experience in business operations, strategic marketing, and sales management in the power equipment sector and or distribution sector (preferred).
- Lead by example, applying effective coaching and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the power equipment sector, technical knowledge, equipment applications, maintaining currency of emerging technology, and relevant government legislative changes, such as environmental issues.
- Knowledge of and experience implementing a variety of sales compensation models.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems and other computer software programs used to automate time and sales management functions.
- Advanced oral and written business communication skills for leading a large team of professionals and meeting with clients and stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrate commitment to excellence and life-long learning in strategic business and sales operations. MBA courses are preferred.
- Ability to manage extensive travel across Canada and periodic US travel,
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
- Bilingual English and French (asset).
- Must be able to travel domestically/internationally without restrictions.
This position is required to be on-site and is in London, ON.
