Overview:

We are growing our Toronto (GTA) team Looking to add a dedicated and compassionate group of Nurses, Postpartum Doulas, Midwives, etc. to provide overnight care for newborns and support families during their first year of life. The ideal candidate will have experience in night-nannying/in-home care or pediatric nursing, possess a deep understanding of infant needs, and is capable of creating a calm and nurturing nighttime environment. This role is essential for supporting families by ensuring their child receives high-quality, trusted care throughout the night.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Overnight Care: Provide attentive and responsive care throughout the night.
  • General Baby Care: Prepare and administer bottle feedings or assist with breastfeeding as needed, ensuring proper hygiene and feeding techniques. Diaper changes, cleaning and sanitizing bottles/pump parts, organizing the nursery, and helping with the baby’s laundry if necessary.
  • Sleep Support: Implement and maintain healthy sleep routines, soothe and comfort children back to sleep, and address any nighttime awakenings.
  • Parent Communication: Provide parents with updates on their child's night, including feedings, sleep patterns, and any concerns that arose during the shift.
  • Safety: Ensure a safe sleeping environment, adhering to all recommended safety guidelines to prevent sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and other risks.
  • Emergency Response: Act swiftly and appropriately in case of emergencies, ensuring the child's safety and contacting parents or medical professionals as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2 years minimum working as a Night Nanny/ Night Nurse or newborn related healthcare background ( eg. neonatal and/or pediatric nursing or midwifery)
  • Skills: Infant First-Aid & CPR.Strong understanding of infant care practices, including feeding, newborn and infant development, newborn and infant sleep, soothing and calming, as well as knowledge on how to deal with common newborn disorders like Colic, Reflux etc.
  • Attributes: Compassionate, patient, non-judgmental, loving, nurturing, respectful, trustworthy, loyal, reliable, and attentive to detail. Ability to stay awake and alert throughout the night is also a must.
  • Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and provide references.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Required: Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Postpartum Doula Certification and/or Newborn Care Specialist Certification. International training is welcomed.
  • Additional: Certifications in breastfeeding, peri-neonatal feeding, pediatric sleep training.
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus.


Payment/Schedule:

  • You will act as an independent contractor and our pay range is $30-35/hr for singletons and $35-$40.00/hr for multiples. You will invoice bi- weekly and be paid that same week.
  • Flexible scheduling options. You will be matched with family contracts that make sense for your schedule.
