Discover Birth & the Nesting Place are seeking passionate and caring individuals to join our team of Doulas. Our organization is committed to providing essential support to families during the birth & postpartum period, ensuring a smooth transition into parenthood. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact within the community.

This role will work with both of our agencies and our hospital doula program. We anticipate this job to be 20-40 hours per week, primarily overnight postpartum support.

Here is a breakdown of duties:
**As a Postpartum Doula you will**:

- Provide emotional, physical, and informational support to families during the postpartum period, typically within the first few days after childbirth
- Offer guidance on newborn care, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and other relevant topics
- Understanding the importance of spotting warning signs and when to refer to a medical care provider
- Assist with light household tasks, meal preparation, and other non-medical responsibilities to help ease the family's transition
- Foster a nurturing and empathetic environment that helps alleviate the stress and challenges of early parenthood
- Listen actively to families' concerns and provide non-judgmental and compassionate support
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care for each family

**Additional duties**:

- Attendance at team meetings is mandatory
- Completing of weekly time sheets
- Other duties as assigned during slow weeks

**Qualifications**:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish a trusting and supportive relationship with diverse families.
- Completed certification and insurance coverage (may be completed as part of hiring process. Please discuss with us further_
- Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
- Ability to work independently without a lot of supervision
- Reliable and punctual, with a flexible schedule to accommodate families' needs
- MUST have reliable transportation.
