Your goal is to provide oversight and strategic advisory to Questrade’s Grow My Wealth Customer Journey leadership team and members. You will be responsible for leading the Grow My Wealth Customer Journey enablement team within the Journey office, and supporting the Journey with managing and prioritizing its initiatives to achieve its business objectives and strategy. In addition to your team, you will work closely with the Journey Office Leader, the Journey Leader and Mission Leaders, the Organization Design & Process Specialist, the Learning & Development Associate, and the Enterprise Agility CoE Lead. Together, you will propel the Grow My Wealth Customer Journey to achieve operational success and value realization.

As the Senior Portfolio Enablement Manager, you have solid agile and digital product management experience, and you have a strong ability to navigate complex matrix delivery organizations. You are analytical and data-driven, and a strong influencer who can build relationships with key partners at all levels. You also deeply understand the opportunities and challenges associated with overseeing the establishment and operationalization of a large business transformation. Your role will provide personalized strategic advice to the Journey leader and Mission leaders, and will be integral to enabling the rapid success of the customer journey.

What’s it like working as a Sr. Portfolio Enablement Lead at Questrade?

This management role is a dynamic and challenging position that contributes to the Journey’s success through providing oversight and strategic advisory. You will be conducting stakeholder management and relationship building activities, while also monitoring the journey portfolio and developing data-informed improvement recommendations. It is vital that the customer Journey leadership team receives close guidance and oversight from the role to ensure they are progressing well towards their business objectives. A key element of the role will be advising the customer Journey leaders on key processes to ensure their adherence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report on customer Journey portfolio changes and recommend adjustments based on evolving business priorities
  • Lead regular portfolio execution group syncs and agile portfolio management events and ceremonies
  • Facilitate and drive establishing OKRs across agile portfolios to enable the business strategy
  • Identify value realization impediments and partner with Journey leaders to overcome roadblocks
  • Ensure Journey adherence to the end-to-end customer Journey delivery framework, the governance and funding framework, and the value realization framework
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the customer journey framework, governance and funding framework, and value realization framework based on lessons learned and leading practices
  • Oversee effective interactions between the Journey and the Centers of Excellence (CoEs)
  • Oversee management of the Journey Enablement team within the Journey Office, providing guidance to Journey members as needed
  • Partner with Journey and Mission Leaders to provide strategic portfolio oversight across all Journeys, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Streamline dependency management between initiatives and Journeys
  • Ensure efficient coordination and collaboration (in partnership with the Journey Capacity & Cross-functional Collaboration Lead)
  • Ensure overall Journey backlogs are prioritized in alignment with the business's short- and long-term goals and strategy, maximizing value delivery
  • Lead and manage the journey portfolio enablement team
  • Communicate and influence key stakeholders through sharing insights, strategies and well-formulated ideas
  • Build and manage relationships with key partners at all levels, including effectively engaging and conducting stakeholder management activities with senior executives
  • Escalate issues and continuously inform sponsors and stakeholders of key issues, risks and interdependencies

You will have:

  • 10 or more years Agile Portfolio Management expertise in the Digital industry operating on large-scale Portfolios
  • 5 to 7 years in diverse roles with increasing leadership responsibilities across major Portfolios / Programs
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the Portfolio objectives, inspire and motivate staff, and maintain alignment with the business strategy
  • Demonstrated experience in managing “upward” among senior leadership
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams
  • Experience working in an Agile Office to conduct portfolio management.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between strategy, technical, creative, and business needs to help produce solutions that achieve results.
  • Certification with at least one Portfolio management methodology as well as agile methodologies, such as:
    • PMO (PMI PMBOK)
    • PRINCE2
    • Agile
    • SAFe
    • Managing Successful Program (MSP)
  • Demonstrated experience in partner management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, are detail-oriented, process-driven, and are data and solution minded.
  • Experience drafting functional and technical specifications.
  • Well versed in working with the following tools: G-Suite, JIRA, Miro and collaboration tools with evidence of practical application.
  • A high degree of political sensitivity, astuteness and the ability to use the informal power structure of the organization to achieve program success and overcome obstacles.
  • A high level of empathy and the ability to vary styles of interaction to match the needs of a variety of temperaments and personalities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain and “sell” the program goals and objectives to the business, as well as technical leadership.
  • Strong business acumen, including industry- and domain-specific knowledge of the organization and its business units. Familiarity with industry trends and innovation.
  • Influencing and negotiation experience and skills in an environment with high competition for resources.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Ability to develop programs and deliver them with financial and resource constraints.
  • Experience across a range of project types.
